Mi Mi's 輕旅行札記

（１）The Hidden Treasure　　

　　Once upon a time, there was a very old farmer. He had worked hard all his life.
He had three young sons, but they were all very lazy.
He wanted them to become skilled farmers.

　　從前有個很老的農夫，他辛苦工作了一輩子。他有三個年輕的兒子，但他們都很懶散。
老農夫想要他們成為有技巧的農夫。


　　One day, the farmer got very sick, and he realized he was dying.
He called his sons to him and said,
”Boys, I will be leaving you soon. There is a lot of gold hidden in the fields.
Dig for it and find it. Everything you discover is yours. ”

　　有一天，老農夫病得很重，他知道自己快死了。
他把兒子叫到身邊，並說道：
「孩子們，我快要離你們而去了。田裡藏著很多黃金。去把它們挖出來。找到就是你們的。」


　　After the farmer was dead, the three boys searched for the gold in the fields.
They had no idea where the special treasure was. They dug in every possible place.
They dug and dug, but they still found no gold,
and yet they turned up all the fields extremely well.

　　老農夫死後，三個兒子便到田裡去找黃金。
他們不知道那個特別的寶藏在哪裡。他們挖遍了每個可能的地方。
他們挖呀挖，但並沒有發現任何黃金，可是他們卻將田裡所有的土都翻得很好。


　　The next autumn, they had an excellent harvest.
When the three sons got so much money after they sold the grain,
they came to realize what their father’s words meant －
there’s gold hidden in the ground; dig for it.
The real treasure was what they learned form working hard.

　　次年秋天，他們的收成很好。三個兒子將穀物賣了之後，賺了許多錢，
他們這才瞭解父親所說的—「田裡藏著金子；把它們挖出來」的含意。
真正的寶藏，就是他們從努力工作中，所學到的東西。
